Lake Martin, Alabama Aquapalooza
Aquapalooza was a promotional concert event hosted by SeaRay Boats and their local marina dealers from 2007 to 2014. It was a multi-location boating festival sponsored by Sea Ray boats, and was promoted as "The World's Largest Boat Party". It Claims to have attracted over 12,000 boats to 100 locations mostly around the United States, but also in several international locations, most being in the months of July and August.

The event was very popular and SeaRay booked top artists to their one "Signature Event" each year, which changed locations from year to year. The "Signature Event" in 2009 was held on Lake Martin, Alabama and the headliner was Alan Jackson. The "Signature Event" in 2010 was held on Lake Travis, Texas and attracted approximately 7,000 boats and 65,000 people. Lake Travis 2010 was the largest known Aquapalooza.

It is believed the event was terminated because new boat sales did not exceed the cost of the events. Because the attendees (and sometimes the bands) were on water, there were unique logistical problems hosting the concert. SeaRay did not want access to the concert via land.

Below is the information from the Lake Martin, Alabama Signature Event concert of 2009 saved for posterity from the LakeMartin.com website:

Lake Martin's AquaPalooza was free to the public. It could only be viewed by boat.

FULL SCHEDULE

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE AQUAPALOOZA CONCERT
YOU MUST ATTEND THE CONCERT BY BOAT
THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS BY LAND

If you are not going to moor your boat at the raft-up, things are simple. Just show up in the Kowaliga Bay area in front of Sinclair's Restaurant during the concert times. Observe the NO WAKE zone that covers the entire area between the buoys from Hwy 63 bridge at Kowaliga, across to the tip of an island west of Sinclair's and then across to Governor’s Island. It is a huge area in which the concert can be seen and heard over the water. That's it!

IF YOU ARE PART OF A RAFT-UP PARTY THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FOR YOU:

If you are mooring your boat in the raft-up you will be taken first come, first serve. The mooring process starts Friday at 2:00 PM. There are spaces for about 1,000 moored boats. The earlier you get there, the better spot you will receive. Bring plenty of bumpers to pad your boat from your neighbors. It is also recommended that you throw anchor on the opposite end of your mooring point.

Upon arrival, there will be attendants on duty directing traffic. If you moor your boat on Friday and leave by shuttle, you will be given credentials (wristbands for each person on your boat) at that time so your boating party can utilize the shuttle services during the event (water and land shuttles). You will not be able to come in by land unless you have credentials.

WATER SHUTTLE TIMES
between moored boats at the raft-up area to Sinclair's Restaurant Dock: Friday, July 24 – 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 25 – 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
